Website validation is an important part of search engine optimization; however, some times this is overlooked. In simple terms, if search engine spiders cannot read your website due errors in your coding, you may not receive the listing you deserve or you may not even be listed at all.

It is pretty simple to see if your website coding is valid. The W3C Markup Validation Service allows webmasters to check to see if their coding has errors in it or not. If there are errors you will need to fix them to make sure spiders are able to read your website.

The most common errors are incorrect closing of tags for XML purposes, so make sure your tags are properly closed as per syntax. Once your website has been deemed valid you have the option to post a W3C website validation on the button of your website.
